About Become Unplayable

Like thousands of parents across the country, my weekends are spent standing on the sidelines of grassroots football.

Watching my son play.
Watching his teammates develop.
Watching brilliant coaches give up their time because they genuinely care about helping children improve.

One thing kept standing out to me.

Every week, players were being told things like "look up," "find space," "switch it," or "what else could you have done there?"

But outside of training, there wasn't an easy, enjoyable way for children to develop that understanding of the game.

There are plenty of footballs, cones, rebound nets and technical drills.
Very little exists to help young players improve the way they think.

That's why Become Unplayable was created.

Our cards are designed to spark conversations, challenge decision-making, and help players see the game differently. They're something families can enjoy together around the kitchen table, teammates can debate before training, and coaches can use to reinforce the tactical side of football.

The goal isn't to memorise the "right" answer.

It's to encourage players to think, explain their decisions, and build confidence in reading the game.

Because the best players don't just react faster.
They understand the game better.
